All joint configurations require that 2 sides (or substrates) are bonded to with the sealant and thus the cured rubber seal provides elongation (or movement) either; in one direction ⬅️ the other ➡️ (or both directions) ↔️ to ensure a seal is kept between them for both weathertight integrity and   to allow for general movement which occurs naturally in buildings especially in high winds and with rapid thermal changes. These types of joints can be seen frequently in glazing applications such as glass to aluminium, glass to glass, glass to cladding and other high movement joints. To summarise, 3C Weatherseal is designed, tested and certified to carry movement of 50% in accordance to ASTM C920 for use where high movement is prevalent!
